From an early age, Sachas Bénard already had gifts for drawing. At the age of 7, he faithfully reproduced the images of the Illustrated Atlases, like a graphic designer in technical drawing.

Having artistic blood from his paternal grandfather (painter and sculptor) and computer scientist blood from his maternal grandfather who founded the Montreal Computer Institute with his boss, he chose to do a DEP in Computer Graphics - Preparation for printing in 1995-97. His godfather was by then, also a computer graphics designer for years.

During this DEP, his technical drawing teacher often calligraphed on almost all his drawings. That's it, Sachas had just had a taste for calligraphy in all its variants. A passion that has lasted and refined for nearly 25 years.

This business, which shares the premises of Gaz Propane Monin, asked Sachas if he wanted to calligraphy the envelopes of the birthday cards of their employees, which he did on a purely voluntary basis, but which gave Sachas the want to refine his calligraphy. He then began many online calligraphy lessons. Which again brought that little "why not?" ".

Calligraphy having always been omnipresent during all these years, it took a major place in 2018 following a scooter accident, breaking three of its sides and spraining both ankles. Usually occupying his spare time in photography, Sachas had to exchange his camera for his pens during his convalescence. This mishap resulted in a renewed passion for calligraphy, allowing Sachas to document and learn more about calligraphy.

Today, Sachas has reached a high level in calligraphy by practicing himself daily. He regularly shares his creations on his artist page on Facebook and YouTube which serve as his portfolio, as well as on other relevant pages related to this art. The reactions of people are very positive and they confirm their appreciation by subscribing to his page which currently has 216 subscribers.

Having opened this page in 2015, this helped determine the needs of subscribers, determine what kind of publication attracts the most views and interactions and also, it allowed this page and Sachas to find its place in the world of graphic art and calligraphy. By analyzing the data on this page, he was able to observe the strong competition in the computer graphics / graphic design and photography sector, Sachas had just identified his vocation, which makes him unique in relation to his competitors: calligraphy.

While writing calligraphy for leisure in public places, people often asked him if that was my job, as they were impressed and interested when they saw what he was doing, even asking him if he made armadillos or s 'he was offering lessons. A world of possibilities opened up before his eyes.

By comparing himself to other calligraphers in the world, he realized his potential. Knowing that in Montreal, there are very few calligraphers and that he had made it his daily life, he now had to stop volunteering and make it his specialization, his profession.

His poster designs have not gone unnoticed within the FQTA (Fédération Québécoise du Théâtre Amateur). He was approached by the troupe Les Cabotins, L'Avant-Scène de Laval and Les Farfelus for their posters. One of his posters for the play Tit-Coq, made the front page of the Trac of the FQTA in January 2017.Working at Peinture Miller near the Ubisoft offices, Sachas dreamed of the idea of working there one day, every day that he was walking past. Not having what it takes, he therefore, outside of his working hours, spent his free time developing his knowledge in several areas of graphic art. Passionate about photography, Sachas will travel across Quebec in search of the most beautiful shots by exploring the possibilities of his camera, including 3D photography, macro photography, etc. Some of his photographs have been chosen to adorn the Facebook banners of popular groups dedicated to photography and tourism. He also learned 3D modeling and 3D rendering engines which he one day achieved a high level of realism.

In 2014, Sachas returned to the theater with the Troupe l'Envol de Laval, landing 5 roles, including the lead role in La Déprime. Being the best qualified person to create the poster for the show, Sachas was given the mandate to create it as well as take the photos of the actors. The troop in return gave him a discount on the troop membership price. Sachas has developed the necessary skills that a graphic designer must have.

Each poster required perfect cohesion between its vision and the vision of the director and the president of the troupe. Very creative, Sachas had used ingenuity to summarize in a single image, the history of the piece presented, by incorporating the faces of the actors in a strategic way, graphically speaking. His vision of the initial concept, not being without pitfalls, Sachas had to learn programs (eg: 3D modeling, photography, etc.) in order to be able to realize the concept he imagined. He was able to meet these challenges imposed on him and delivered the finished poster on time.

Until 2019, the troupe trusted Sachas, not only as an actor, but also for the creation of his posters and other graphic needs (video montages, photography of the actors and the stage set, etc.), at the same time allowing him to be able to play in the theater for free. Volunteer work that brought this little "why not?" ".

Nurturing the idea of starting his business in graphic design and especially of receiving a salary for his volunteer work, Sachas presented his business project to the SAJE measure committee on November 1, 2016. Unfortunately, Sachas was not accepted despite the kindness of the committee for allowing him to represent himself a second time.

Following this refusal and having to find an income, Sachas got a job on 1 2017 as a sales consultant at Pro du Foyer JB, a stove and fireplace shop. The business was then in the start-up phase, Sachas being the only employee, he had to demonstrate versatility by performing several tasks unrelated to his position, by offering free help to his employer in order to create the pamphlets and other posters of the necessary products. at the boutique and at the Montreal Home Show. Sachas was also responsible for administering the business's Facebook page, including taking photos and advertising material there. Seller of high-end products, Sachas had the idea one day to offer a photorealistic 3D preview of the finished product to its customers (fireplace, casing, wall covering, etc.).
